OVRA Archives offers consultation and support services.
In one or more viewings, OVRA Archives evaluates the state of the work and available material: what has already been archived,
what needs to be collected and what needs to be done? Through this evaluation a timeframe and archiving concept can be
specifically developed and tailored to the needs of the individual artist and his or her work.
OVRA Archives describes the state of an artist‘s archive in three ways:
Example 1.: Organized, digitized data exists.
The data is archived by the artist.
Example 2.: There is an abundance of information on the work, that is not cataloged.
An archiving concept is developed together with the artist.
The artist can move existing files and data directly onto their OVRA Archives FTP-server account.
The collecting of data is quick and simple because the information is bundled and an overview of the work is created.
Example 3.: Almost nothing on documentation exists.
A comprehensive concept is created.
The body of work is evaluated and a list of the missing material is compiled. For example:
- If only physical material exists, this must to be digitized.
- If technical and/or other information on the work is missing, this has to be researched.
- Are there images missing? These must be collected and/or newly photographed, etc.
In addition to these and other specifications OVRA Archives finds experts to do the work, sets up a time frame and helps create a
financing plan.
